Prescription Drug Rehab
Prescription drug rehab is designed to support you as you stop taking medications previously prescribed to you or that you’ve used that are typically available by prescription only. Commonly misused prescription drugs include opiates, benzodiazepines, and amphetamines, but there are others as well. At Solution Based Treatment, we will create a specialized treatment plan to help you overcome prescription drug addiction and dependency.
Symptoms of Prescription Drug Addiction
There are many signs and symptoms of prescription drug addiction, and they vary based on the drug or drugs being misused. Common signs of prescription drug abuse may include:
- Drug-seeking behaviors
- Running out of medication before refills are due
- Stealing or borrowing money to make illegal purchases of prescription drugs
- Doctor hopping
- Changes in behavior
Physical symptoms will depend on the drugs being used, so there is no straightforward change to watch for. However, if you note that someone you care about is acting differently than usual, drug use may play a role.
Symptoms of Prescription Drug Withdrawal
The symptoms of prescription drug withdrawal can vary significantly from one drug to another. Some common symptoms may include:
- Depression, anxiety, or changes in behavior or mental state
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Flu-like symptoms
Depending on the particular drug, there may or may not be serious or life-threatening symptoms caused by sudden withdrawal, which is why a tapered or medically monitored detoxification process is best.
In the Event of Emergency from Prescription Drug Withdrawal (CALL 911)
Emergencies sometimes happen during withdrawal, especially if drugs are stopped cold turkey. Call 911 if you or a loved one are showing signs of high blood pressure, difficulty breathing, heart problems, coma, or other symptoms that require medical intervention.
Prescription Drug Detox – The First Step
The first step toward recovery is going through detox. Drug detox will vary in length based on how long you took a drug, the dose you took, and other factors.
Medications Used in Prescription Drug Detox
The medications that may be used in prescription drug detox include:
- Anticonvulsants such as gabapentin or carbamazepine
- Methadone
- Benzodiazepines
- Buprenorphine
The exact medications used for your detox will depend on the drug or drugs you take and your individual symptoms.
Our Prescription Drug Rehab Timeline (30, 45 or 60 Days)
At Solution Based Treatment, we have prescription drug programs lasting 30, 45, or 60 days. During your time with us at our treatment centers, you can join group sessions, have individual therapy, work with providers for medication management, and more.
Our Other Prescription Drug Rehab Programs
We are home to many different treatment options. Here are several programs to suit your needs.
Inpatient Detox for Prescription Drug Addiction
Inpatient detox is a short program that focuses on detoxification only. During inpatient detox, you receive 24-hour support as you detox from a prescription drug or drugs.
Intensive Outpatient Programs for Prescription Drug Addiction
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) don’t require you to live in the facility. Instead, you’ll come to the clinic several times a week for a few hours each time. Then, you can leave and return home, go to work or school, or take care of other responsibilities.
Day Treatment (Partial Hospitalization Programs) for Prescription Drug Addiction
For those who can’t stay in a hospital around the clock, another option is a partial hospitalization program (or PHP). A PHP is beneficial because it provides medical care and support during the day but allows you to go home in the evening.
Will Insurance Cover Prescription Drug Rehab?
Insurance usually covers at least some of the costs associated with attending substance abuse treatment programs.
PPO Insurance Coverage for Prescription Drug Rehab
Rehabs that accept PPO insurance don’t have to be in your insurance provider’s network. However, you will pay more of the costs out of your own pocket if you choose an out-of-network provider.
HMO Insurance Coverage for Prescription Drug Rehab
Rehabs that accept HMO insurance will need to be in-network for them to be covered. Our Admissions Department can contact your insurer and verify your benefits when you reach out to seek treatment. Call us at (833) 999-1941 to see if your insurance company will cover 100% of the cost of care.
Our Prescription Drug Detox Program
Our prescription detox program focuses on helping you get through withdrawal symptoms safely. Programs may last a week or longer depending on the medications or drugs you currently take. However, once you’re done with this process, you will be free of the drug in your system and be able to move forward with rehabilitation.
Once Detox is Complete: Transition to Our Residential Prescription Drug Rehab
After you complete detox, you have the option of moving into our residential treatment programs. Our residential programs last 30, 45, and 60 days, giving you the time you need to put the full focus on your recovery.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program for Prescription Drug Use Disorder
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) for prescription drug use disorder focuses on your behavioral health, mental health, and addiction treatment needs. You’ll come to our treatment facilities several days a week for several hours each time. At night, you’ll return home.
